AS THE LOCALS DO…
If you are looking to celebrate New Years Eve as the true Marbellís do, we suggest to visit “Plaza de los Naranjos” in Marbella town center. Traditionally a meeting point to see in the New Year. People slowly start gathering a few hours before midnight with their cava bottles and bunches of 12 grapes per person. Enjoying themselves surrounded by the sounds of live music, awaiting the town hall clock to chime the first bells of the New Year. According to Spanish tradition, eating 12 grapes by the time the clock has finished chiming will bring that person prosperity and happiness in the coming year. The square is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars that celebrate into the early hours. Before going home people often stop off for their first breakfast of the new year – delicious Churros and Hot chocolate.
Wherever you choose to see in the New Year, Marbella Unique Properties wishes you a very happy and prosperous 2019, and looks forward to assisting you with all your property needs including sales and rentals. Please visit our offices open through the holiday season in Puerto Banus.
