Marbella is a great city for people of all ages, but with a minimum of 300 days guaranteed sun and warm climate throughout the year, we are an ideal city for people looking to retire to and the 65+ years old community.
If you are abroad, sitting in your living room reading this blog and looking out of the window to rainy grey skies, maybe Marbella is the place for you!
We are a beachside city with; low crime, variety of accommodation options, regular activities and social events, outdoor sports, good infrastructure, luxury services and facilities. As well as, international and multicultural residents living here year round, making it an ideal place for people in their 60’s, 70’s and 80+ to enjoy, without the language barrier, (which other European destinations may not be able to facilitate as easily).
Marbella is known as a popular luxury destination and a brand in its own right, with the “International Jet Set and VIP clients” in the 1960’s+ 70’s going forward, Marbella has become the choice residence for many people of that generation and it’s easy to see why…
Location
Proximity and easy access to services and facilities – including discounts and free pass for pensioners on public transport. Easy access to the highway A7 in both directions Gibraltar/Malaga. Malagas International airport within less than an hour’s drive from our town center.
Marbellas crime rate is extremely low compared to other cities in Europe, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy all that the city offers.
Languages
Due to Marbella being such an International city, we are fortunate to have a large variety of languages spoken regularly. When walking through the streets you can usually hear 2 or 3 or more languages being spoken at the same time. Most people living or working in the area speak at least 2 languages fluently (Spanish and English) and on a daily basis. This means that shops, restaurants and staff are able to speak to the clients in their native tongue, easing the idea of “living abroad”.
Accommodation
Property in Marbella varies from grand luxury mansions to small unique apartments, allowing for something for every taste and specific requirements.
Many of the more mature clients that Marbella Unique Properties deal with, tend to rent properties during the winter months for Mid-term rentals. Allowing for a break from their colder countries of residence and to experience Marbella in the low seasons. This year we are seeing more and more demand for this type of rental.
Short term rentals, are always popular with clients booking their summer holidays well in advance from just after Christmas or even from the previous summer. This enables clients to have the best selection of choice of property available and many mature clients choose to repeat and stay in the same property year in, year out.
There are private residences that are adapted for elderly clients, or clients with disabilities, or for people looking to live by themselves within a community, that has services such as doctors, restaurants, hairdressers amongst others, and a reception that is open year round and that they can use at their leisure. There are two types of option for this type of residence: assisted living or independent living within the same community in different blocks. Marbella Unique Properties works with a great residence in particular located in Puerto Banus, walking distance to all amenities and facilities as well as offering these two types of living types to choose from. Pets are also allowed in some of these properties. This is also a great option for clients looking to be independent in Spain but without having the worry of having to sort out bills, living expenses etc by themselves. This also allows the clients families peace of mind and reduces the stress for everyone.
Social Events
Marbella offers wonderful social events year round, from Summer Galas in the height of the high season, to music festivals, to charity fund raisers and events that are hosted by expat groups or well-known organizations.
There is a growing variety of outdoor activities to choose from:
